Have you ever wanted to be an actor? If so, Act 1 may be for you! This year, they performed both a musical and a play, and next year they will do the same! The play was extravagant, and nearly all the acters agree that it was so much fun to do. And for the musical, not only did the cast love being in it, but the crowd absolutely loved it!
I asked cast member Max Howard why he joined Act 1, and he said, “It looked like a good time, and I saw ‘Shrek’ back in fifth grade.” I asked cast member Max Howard why he joined Act 1, and he said, “It looked like a good time, and I saw ‘Shrek’ back in fifth grade.”
Acting isn’t the only great thing about Act 1 though. If you have stage fright, or just prefer working backstage, Tech Crew may be for you! Tech Crew is divided into three sections, hair makeup costumes, tech booth, and backstage/props. When asked about what aspects of tech crew was most difficult, crew member Samantha Dorado had this to say, “I’d say hair is the hardest because sometimes people don’t like their hair, or it just isn’t cooperating.” This proves that productions can have difficult parts, and still run smoothly without major issues.
In conclusion, Act 1 is an experience that cultivates creative growth, and can encourage further participation in the arts such as orchestra, band, choir and theatre. None of this experience could’ve been possible without the directors, Mr. O’Malley, Mrs. Schroeder, and Mrs. Myers.
