Our middle school’s play, “The Day the Internet Died “Produced by Jason Pizzarello is a play about a small town’s internet going out leaving cellphone obsessed citizens left with nothing.
We spoke with Mr. O’Malley, who is directing this production, he is assisted by Mrs. Schroeder, she is the assistant director, and Mrs. Meyers who is the House director. There are 30 roles played, and there are about 6-10 townspeople. Mr. O’Malley said, “It took about 5-6 hours over a course of several days to choose the cast, we had to choose which students makes us feel like they would fit their character, followed by their personality and how they behave with their friends, etc.”
Rehearsals started September 13th, and they will end opening night which is October 26th and rehearsals are from 2:50-4:30. O’Malley says, “We practice every day, Monday through Friday, and we are putting tons of hours into rehearsal.”
Tickets will go on sale the week of October 26-27th and cost $5. If there are any students interested in joining our school’s drama club, there will be an informational meeting sometime in December for our spring musical.
