Two eighth-grade students, Reese Schneider and Charlotte Wylie, are making it possible for students to stay active, improve their health, and get stronger! At Lincoln Middle School, Reese and Charlotte are making an impact! Their intention in creating the workout club was “to give students an opportunity to work out in the new school gym outside of school,” Reese said. Reese and Charlotte agreed that their favorite part was getting extra opportunities to work out. They both see changes in the people who participate. Reese and Charlotte said that each time students come, they can see improvement in the strength of other students.
The workout club meets every Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30. The process of creating the club was a big step because they had to get it approved by the D7 School Board. Students participate in a variety of workouts, including exercises that help make their abs, arms, and legs stronger. Overall, the experience has been positive for Reese and Charlotte. “We really enjoyed the experience of doing the workout club,” Charlotte concluded. P.E. teacher Mrs. Holler was also a lot of help in creating the workout club, and it would not be possible without her. Hopefully, the impact Reese and Charlotte made carries into the future, and the workout club continues throughout the years.
