Eighth graders Audrey F. and Tanner W. shared advice about their time at Lincoln Middle School during the 2025–26 school year. They offered tips on time management, focus, and making friends.
Studies show that many students begin struggling with time management in middle school. Many students also struggle to stay focused in class. Tanner W. emphasized the importance of staying focused in class.
“Remembering things the first time you hear them is important,” said Tanner W.
Seventh grade was the favorite year for both students because the teachers were nice. On the other hand, they had different but equally valid answers about how to make friends in sixth grade.
“Just talk to people about things that are relatable to you,” said Tanner W.
“Just be yourself,” added Audrey F.
Whether students follow Tanner’s advice about focus or Audrey’s advice about being yourself, both agree that middle school becomes easier with confidence, effort, and friendship.
