A recent survey of five 8th grade students at Edwardsville Lincoln Middle School during first semester of the 2025–2026 school year shows Chick-Fil-A beating Raising Cane’s 4-1 in student preferences. Chick-Fil-A maintains a high satisfaction score of 83 in 2025, while Raising Canes maintains a high satisfaction score of 79.
We interviewed Chloe Miller, Jackson Paschedag, Max Vivian, Ryder Aholt, and Sutton Weller. After interviewing, we learned that 4/5 of them preferred Chick-Fil-A. The biggest Chick-Fil-A fan was Max Vivian. He was a very hardcore Chick-Fil-A fan who didn’t even let the thought of Raising Canes seep into his mind. Some wise words from him were, “Raising Canes is overrated. The only good thing is the sauce. The chicken has no seasoning at all, it’s crazy.” Chloe, Jackson, and Ryder’s opinions did not differentiate; they all stated, “Chick-Fil-A is just so much better. The customer service is amazing.”
The biggest Raising Canes fan was Sutton Weller. He was the only Raising Canes fan. He was also a very hardcore Canes fan who was disgusted to hear that everyone else chose Chick-Fil-A, but he did give Chick-Fil-A a few props. Sutton’s opinion of this was, “Raising Canes chicken is just crispier and better.”
Lincoln students have spoken. Chick-Fil-A was far more preferred than Raising Canes. While Chick-Fil-A won this round with 4 out of 5 students, this small survey shows just how passionate students can be about their food choices.
